Looking specifically at the works by James Turrell, an artist whom I have been passionate for a few years now. I enjoy the way he plays with form and light to create the impression of depth and portals, be it a light form displayed on a wall or a sky space in the structure of an installation.
The Roden Crater, based in Arizona has been a huge source of information and inspiration when developing my ideas through the tryptic output. I enjoy the way the orientation and design decisions were based on the location of specific stars, and the relationship between earthlings and the wider universe is exemplified.
As my theme develops into the idea of trans-communicative-space - where time may be viewed in the 4th dimension much like in the film Interstellar, I am especially interested in architecture that has celestial connections and context.
Additional inspirations of concepts and forms can be found in the theoretical design of Cenotaph for Newton by Etienne-Louis Boullée (which can also be found on the front page of my blog). Comparing both the forms and driving points behind the projects described above display continuous theme of interspacial connections between human and the external context of space and time.
