Trying to think more provocatively about my design and the speculative technologies and systems within the institute, I have added more twisting pipes of algae and an additional ventilation system.
I will propose that the system utilises the fact that algae can absorb carbon dioxide and convert into oxygen, by absorbing "unclean air" from the higher spaces where heat will rise and the pipes are situated, to be taken back to the plant room where the process will take place, then the ventilation tubes will pump clean oxygen back into the institute - creating additional pressure encouraging further air flow through the ecoshaft/atrium of the building from the thermal labyrinth.
