Agreeing with my tutors that the windows as proposed feel too robust in comparison to the organic and fluidity of the roof structure:
As an alternative, I have designed some circular rooflights which will be arranged along the ridge and eaves of the roof structure. I have lines the inner core of the rooflights with mirrors to reflect the sunlight down into the internal roof space below despite the orientation of the sun.
Testing the first 4 roof lights for their lighting intensity - I have found that from some perspectives within the mezzanine level, the inner surface of the mirrored roof lights reflects images of the sky - which I think is quite pleasant. With this in mind, it can be noticed that in some instances, the form of the undulating roof is also reflected back to the observer and due to the curved surface of the tubes, the reflection is somewhat distorted and I am still trying to decide whether this looks interesting, weird or both.
