Well it has been nearly 1 and a half years and too many revisions, site meetings and consultations to count - but we have finally obtained planning and listed building consent for the renovations of 5 grade II listed cottages in, to turn them into luxury holiday lets. We have already implemented a previously approved application from another firm to start the internal strip out.
Due to the remote location, the site has been subject to a variety of thefts and antisocial behaviour, including the removal of the existing stone slates, stone wall toppings, listed windows and general damage to the properties - so I am happy that work can progress on site and hopefully act as a deterrent to further illegal activities.
I began this project at RIBA Schedule of Works Stage 1 at A+DP in January 2018 and have assisted with developing the proposals up to to stage 4, and I'm excited to finally take it through building regulations and construction to completion!
